Kirk Thomas Poems

Puffs of light gray
Loom in the air above
Heavy with their burdens
Unable no more
...

With destitution and solitude
Lost souls seeming
To wander aimlessly
Hunger the largest thing
...

Old man winter has his sleeves rolled up
As he bursts through the Gateway Arch
Knocking over patio tables
And hats off peoples' heads
...

We all wear masks in some shape or form
Some of us have different masks
For different occasions
I am not sure if I know who you are
...

Cerulean light powerfully evident
Sucks from the bosom of the wind
Giving birth and paling
Producing a newborn sun

Kirk Thomas Biography

I have been writing since I was able to write and comprehend. Poetry is my diary, my journal and my release. I love to act on paper, put myself into certain situations and write about it. I enjoy reading poetry as much as I do writing it. I love nature. I will write about anything that comes to mind. I believe like space our imagination is infinite.)

The Music Of The Rain

Puffs of light gray
Loom in the air above
Heavy with their burdens
Unable no more
To support their load
Release comes as refreshing
As their release is to the earth
Release comes gradual
dropp by drop
The water falls
Through darkened skies
Each drop
Beating a tune
Upon the earth
The beat of each drop
The rhythm of nature
The slight breeze accompanies
Causing flowers and grass
To dance to the beat
Emitting aromas appealing
To the nose
As well as the mind
The music of the rain
Enchanting all who hear it
Through sight, sound and smell
Each beat part of an incantation
To draw the listener
And render them helpless
Trance like they give attention
To the music of the rain.
