From whom was your legacy born,
and where does your destiny lie

A voice calling out from the storm

There are no other words

So I rethought the terms

The rain stopped
the sun was gone

Mercy was in

There's comfort in knowing,
things come and they go

The wind brings a newness,
...

Live divorced from the past,
engaged to the future
—but married to the present
...

Not in command of what happens next,
only in how we react

The world gets to pitch and we get to catch,
...

You dip your toe into poetry's waters,
but never seem to get wet

Pretense showing, your measure unknowing,
...
