Lateef Jan Afridi Poems

Today, upon a bus,
I saw a girl with golden hair
And wished I was as fair
When suddenly she rose to leave,
...

This Qur'an unites us
It guides us to the path of goodness

Almighty Allah revealed it
...

O pain of parting, don't torment me for no reason
Why have you become a reason for no reason?
O time, tell my heart to be wise and stop this madness
It is intent on being faithful for no reason
...

Now, somewhere inside me

A little life is left
...

The caravan stopped for a few moments,

And then where did you go my love?
...

Who created the sun?
He is Allah Almighty
Who created the moon?
He is Allah almighty
...

We will return, oh my beloved
And kiss each others forehead
And will taste the scent of your kindness
Besmirch in the richness of your love
...

Blessed is your face
Blessed is your name
My beloved
...

After many years, when we are old
when i come to your country your city, and call you,
On the phone, i say,
A..., i want to meet you...
...

If you come near to me, then the stars will stop
Come, Light this lonely filled night someday
Sweep your tresses on my face someday
Sleep with your head rested on my chest someday
...

Start anything you do with name of only God (Allah)
Our sustenance comes from God alone
Forget all the worries that encumber you
Trust in God and no one can hurt you
...

A longing person remains in alienation
He has no friends in life
Who trust the world of misfortunes
You trample on fellows in the dust
...

From those around I hear a Cry
A muffled sob, a Hopeless sigh
I hear their footsteps leaving slow
And then I know my soul must Fly
...

She was like a flowing wind

She was like a soaring kite
...

Dust is my bed, embraces me and it's my cover now
The sand surrounds me even behind my back
And the grave tells a dankness of my affliction
And the brightness draws a line
...

Ya Allah
My Lord i ask you to make,
My last actions good deeds that please you
I ask you to forgive my faults,
...

In the name of God the bestower of mercies the Merciful
It is the greatest thing to want to be in submission to God
You are the symbol of the glories of pearls
So abandon the marshes and rise into the sky
...

My words have been lost at the door of my poem
And the longing for the love of Allah(swt) runs in the domain of my veins
And the pen in my hand is calling out
come start open pen and repeat
...

Oh who see
Oh who see the mosquito spread its wings
In the darkness of the black night
And see its vein in its upper chest
...

A Longing person remains in alienation
He has no friends in life
Who trust the world of misfortunes
You trample on fellows in the dust
...

The Best Poem Of Lateef Jan Afridi

Oh God Forgive Me When I Whine

Today, upon a bus,
I saw a girl with golden hair
And wished I was as fair
When suddenly she rose to leave,
I saw her hobble down the aisle
She had one leg and wore a crutch
But as she passed, she smiled
Oh God, forgive me when I whine
I have two legs the world is mine

I stopped to buy some candy
The lad who sold it had such charm
I talked with him, he seemed so glad
If I were late, it `d do no harm
And as I left, he said to me,
'I thank you, you've been so kind
You see, ' he said, 'I `m blind'
Oh God, forgive me when I whine
I have two eyes the world is mine

I saw a child with eyes of blue
He stood and watched the others play
He did not know what to do
I stopped a moment and then I said,
Why don't you join the others, dear?
He looked ahead without a word
And then I knew, He couldn't hear
Oh God, forgive me when I whine
I have two ears the world is mine

With feet to take me where I `d go
With eyes to see the sunset's glow
With ears to hear what I'd know
Oh God, forgive me when I whine
I have blessed indeed, the world is mine

May Peace to All

He/She did not write Oh God Forgive Me When I Whine. This poem was very old when I was growing up in the 60's, it was already very well known.
