A Moment Of Mine Poem by Lateef Jan Afridi

A Moment Of Mine

Now, somewhere inside me

A little life is left

A new heartbeat has woken up

I came to know that I am alive

That kind of dedication

Is there in this moment

Where was this moment of mine?

It is in front of me now

Should I touch it?

Should I die or should I live a little?

Should I kiss the happiness or should I cry a little?

Should I die or should I live a little?)

The body which was burning in the sun

Has got the shade of a tree now,

Like the smile of an angry child,

Has blossomed after cajoling

My heart can feel something like that now

Like ointment has been applied on an ages old wounds

That kind of mercy

Is there in this moment

Where was this moment of mine?

It is standing in front of me now

Like the kite which has been cut of from the string

Was my life like that,

Today is mine, tomorrow may or may not be mine,

That was my story everyday.

A new bond is calling me now from behind

Why is tomorrow worrying me?

One prick like this

Is there in this moment

Where was this moment of mine?

It is standing in front of me now

Should I touch it?

Should I die or should I live a little?

Should I kiss the happiness or should I cry a little?

Should I die or should I live a little?

Take that moment in time...your moment of mine, that it may be one of passion and purpose....A very pure and simplistic look at what we all know....Dare to live in the moment, full and focusing on the promise of all possibilities. Well done! PEACE
