You hand her to me, knowing what I must do
I ask, how can you forsake her?

Keeping ourselves afloat
When directions aren't clear
And no one is near

One second made the difference
To someone that survived
One minute can become forever
When you are deprived

Religions offered nothing to me
I'm sure it never will
It's never soothed in times of need
Or ever cured my ills
