Maria Turley Poems

I, I who have nothing,
Nothing to care, nothing to share.
I, I am alone, alone with just me
Me and the sea.
...

As the sun beats down
On my already browned, naked body,
The beads of sweat trickle down
My arms, my neck, and my thighs.
...

In the beautiful jungle of life
Lies a warm cavern within
Its mysteries surround the entrance
With strong desires to go in

Lonely

I, I who have nothing,
Nothing to care, nothing to share.
I, I am alone, alone with just me
Me and the sea.
I have no home everything’s gone.
I must start again, but I don’t know where.
Just me and the sea
The birds and the sand,
I am all alone, just a bag in my hand.
All I have left is a heart to share,
With who I don’t know.
But someone somewhere must care.
I have no place to go,
I am all alone.
Just me and the sea.
