My Heart Beats True

the same fake smile
for the world to see
to hide all the tears
that you've caused me

you see me smile
believe its true
without realizing
what i've been through

the pain is too much
such a heavy burden
that no one could know
unless they've been hurting

too much to bear
but alone i must
until you realize
it was always love, not lust

i wish you'd believe me
when i say i love you
you may not see it
but my heart beats true
