Marla Black Poems

You found me
in the middle of the storm.
I made you my lifeboat despite I knew it wasn't fair for you.
It could drown us both.

We were about to cross the street.
I was probably thinking about you, me, the new city.
Maybe just about nothing.
I stepped in the road, lost in my thoughts.

Lifeboat

You found me
in the middle of the storm.
I made you my lifeboat despite I knew it wasn't fair for you.
It could drown us both.
You made me believe something better was waiting for me, you were there to keep me confident and safe.
Then I got out of the storm.
It ended, and I ended you.
I knew it wasn't fair, I did it nonetheless because I had been looking for someone who loves me for what I am, and not what I do, for so long, I just couldn't resist.
I'm sorry for that.
Hope you find your own lifeboat and never forget my selfishness, as it is a great lesson.
Don't try to fix someone's broken wings because you may achieve it and then they will fly away.
Love you always, love you anyway.
