Movie Time Poem by Marla Black

Movie Time

We were about to cross the street.
I was probably thinking about you, me, the new city.
Maybe just about nothing.
I stepped in the road, lost in my thoughts.
Didn't see the car approaching.
When I heard the horn, a soft breeze made me step back.
It was you.
Pushing me safe, gentile but determined.
I smiled gratefully, relieved from a danger I never actually felt.
You smiled back and we kissed.
That kiss was the most natural thing I've ever done.
Ease in one another.
That kiss meant words, meant present.
Made me realize how wrong it's talking instead of kissing.
It didn't care about us keeping up.
When we stopped, I knew that moment would chase after me forever.
Now I can't expect any less.
Any words.
Any kisses.
That don't mean what ours did.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
It all felt like a movie, hence the title. He felt like inner peace, hence the poem. The picture shows the exact point after the cross and I took it for different reasons.
