Michael Varghese Poems

We are like drones in this world
Get up, move around, do your job, go home
Monotony, consistent oscillation
Between the waking and the dark
...

Come on you can do it
You know you can do it
You just gotta keep your head up
Just know that you're good
...

I wish i could just close my eyes and never have to open them again
Have an eternal sleep like dead men
In their coffins, sound asleep
Never the light back into their eyes will creep
...

We wrap it around us so tight
Like an old man his cloak
So cold, so old his skin's gone white
And to all us common folk
...

Every day it's a battle
Every wrong move could be fatal
Your blood runs hot in your veins
As you take hold of the reins
...

It will be over soon, my friend
Don’t worry; the worst has come to an end
This pain you feel
It’s a stain for real
...

Rumours are just around the corner
Just make that bend from the boring routine
And with new vision be seen
By those, all around you
...

Everyday Life

We are like drones in this world
Get up, move around, do your job, go home
Monotony, consistent oscillation
Between the waking and the dark
Just the everyday life, hmm
Everyday life-a tribute to our disengaged minds
Autopilot all day, every day, for all but a few
Who rejoice in every change
The crack in the wall, the shortcut home
The little things that make life bearable
Till the solitude of death
If only we could rejoice like them
Euphoria in the growth of a plant
Excitement and mindless rants
Just think, if we were like them
We could be happy
Not just with our greatest achievements
But with every small victory, every surpassed hurdle
Every living thing, every little thing
And this would make all the difference
And help us cross the fence
From the house of boredom-home to the urge to do stupid things
Over to the house of the mildly amused-home to happiness and calm
