Finally Free Poem by Michael Varghese

Finally Free

Every day it's a battle
Every wrong move could be fatal
Your blood runs hot in your veins
As you take hold of the reins
Every movement pains
Cause you're so tired
Your brains wired
From not enough sleep
You're in way too deep
The bad thoughts do creep
From the dark place in your soul
This deep dark abyss, this endless hole.

You wake up try to keep up
Try to shape up
So that you can keep going
The movement's gotta come
Like river keeps flowing
So you take a sip of rum
And try to keep going
Try to get out of this race
But the pace
It's too fast
You're trying not to be last
So you try harder and harder
To get ahead in this game
To get away from the blame
And get everything back the same

You're spinning in your head
After everything you did
You're flying like a disc
And you took that big risk
And all the life, it just came
You can sleep, eat and breathe
And you do with lust, with greed
Cause you're finally free
Now all you can see, is the future big blue
Free just like the sea.
