Crack goes his whip
Striking fear into their hearts
Slapping them from head to hip
Day in and day out
...
I’m in love
It feels like the feathers of a dove
My heart pounds faster than lighting
Sometimes it gets quite frightening
...
I promise never to let it die
No matter the reason of why I cry
It’s not mine or yours, but a part of a little thing I call my heart
I’ll carry it around where ever I go
...
Poems are easy to create
When you feel like there is no other escape.
So here I go to try to explain
Why I’m writing this anyway.

Watching his eyes begin to speak
Mouthing the words of the meek
Continue to hide sadness and fear
She dies inside knowing no friendship is near
...
Look at the rose
With little green toes
And a head of fire
That burns with desire

Harriet Tubman
Crack goes his whip
Striking fear into their hearts
Slapping them from head to hip
Day in and day out
This had to end!
She snuck them out.
She did her best to protect and defend
Giving them a chance to be free
For her heroic deed
She was called Moses
Many souls were freed
From the man with his whip.
