Nesrin Aykac Biography

Nesrin Aykaç was born in Izmir, Türkiye, where she continues to make her home. A journalist, writer, and poet, she has contributed as a freelance newspaper columnist in her hometown of Mardin. She is the author of two poetry collections and a volume of memoirs and essays. Her work continues to be published across various platforms and literary magazines in Türkiye and internationally. Aykaç writes in both English and Turkish.)

BEST WISHES
What a warm and calm view of life!
How it reminds me of the taste of red wine.
I wish that vine tree will never fade;
May it live with you for decades.
Embroider all the beauties with needle and thread,
With that hoop in your hand,
With colorful threads,
So the beauties of life may never fade away.
May this wonderful view never end;
This is my best wish to send.
I wish you many years like these,
And may your hopes never end.
