I wonder what makes someone happy, what causes despair

Kept on looking the reasons behind and met complexity everywhere

She saw the light growing in size and intensity
Heard some voices, felt someone walking towards her slowly
Her every attempt to act like a normal person thwarted
For she was bedridden for months and her life was halted
