Though in nature abundance we swim everyday
Though our land flows with milk and honey
Yet in distress and poverty we cry and pray
For a Nigeria that could be as sweet as our president's tea
...

There is a flaming coal
On the river of my soul
Kindled from the depth of hell
Wherein all men once fell
...

Out in the middle of moist misery
Lost in the dilemma department of my mind
Looking but not seeing
Almost getting blind
...

Calm is the air, the sun is late
i lie and hope to flip my state
to blissful solemn unconsciousness
but then my eyes let them through to my brain
...

An obsessive race of heightened fright
To a misty world beyond my sight
Did i indulge in toxic wine?
Just when will i reach my deadline?
...

I spent a million years waiting on hope
At a busy junction of indecision
Where demons tease and angels beg
But mankind chose to rule their own
...

Take my ageing soul back home
Listen to my mother's lengthy tales
Of loneliness and raining tears
And against hope she stood for God

Nigeria A Land Flowing With Milk And Honey

Though in nature abundance we swim everyday
Though our land flows with milk and honey
Yet in distress and poverty we cry and pray
For a Nigeria that could be as sweet as our president's tea

IN the highest seat we have title holders
Always wearing a face of faithful of leaders
But behind their flesh is a gland of evil
Secreting the fearlessness that make them act like the devil

Just as the rate of crime increases daily
So do job opportunities declines
NO wonder why young intellectuals of our time
Have no choice than invent ways of implementing evil
-
Oh! Nigeria a well of pain
That is filled with tears and suffering
Oh God only you can heal our land
Only you can make our leaders sane
