Blind Memories Poem by oluokun david

Blind Memories

Take my ageing soul back home
Listen to my mother's lengthy tales
Of loneliness and raining tears
And against hope she stood for God
Stories i know sound new today
Go on and on
Remind my soul.

If i forget will you forgive
My visions blind my memories
Foreign candles melt on my flesh
And modern wax polish my skin
Your stories are a compass to my soul
Can i forget?
Can you forgive?
