The Unbidden

I go, though unbidden.

Unbidden, I will pay the fare.
Traveling light, nothing I bear,
But one coin for passage,
From here to there.

I go to that Place, though unbidden.
Leaving this place in which I am hidden.
Hidden in a dark and noiseless place.
Painful and lonely, this finite space.

Yielding that Spark which I hold dear,
Then away from this place of much despair

At the rivers edge,
Gazing across the flow.
Straining to see that Place
Known long ago.
No Keeper to pay,
No Ferry to ride, ...
