Penny Heart

Penny Heart Poems

That feeling you get
When all alone
And the house is quiet
When the pieces fit
...

In the still of the night a sound is made
And all the colors seem to fade
A scream, a shot, a body falling
A voice, a dream, someone calling
...

I’m lost and so alone
This house I’m in is not a home
I want to be with the one I love
But I’m scared he doesn’t love me back
...

What am I to you?
O heartless one
What do you want from me?
O my menacing demeanor
...

Yes I miss you
Yes I want you
Yes I need you
Yes
...

On December the fifth, a cold winters night
A scream was heard from a horrid fight

A shot rang out, and then silence hung in the air
...

No sound was made
The night I died
The music stoped
And so did I
...

With edges burned
Frayed
Torn
And even worse lost
...

9.

Can you see me?
Behind the mask I wear
If not so let it be
I’ll hide forever until you do
...

10.

I breathe it in
So cold and crisp
The night air seems so thin
A breeze tugs on a small whisper
...

The flame dances and leaps across the table
Making little friends to join in
Another twirl and the chair is on fire too
What joy they must have,
...

I’m scared and lost
I want to cry
But I don’t have a reason why
I wish that he were here
...

Penny Heart Biography

Born and grew up in a small town, nothing much to do but read and such. Always felt the need to say something more, that what was said was wrong, that all we live in is a dream. For that is what it is, nothing more than a dream. I tell my friends that, I live in a coma, none of you exist. So my friends, I do not exist. But I am here in writing.)

That Feeling You Get

That feeling you get
When all alone
And the house is quiet
When the pieces fit
And you just want to moan
‘Oh no, not now. They were just friends.’
Then the phone rings
And it all ends

Click.

‘He lied, it can’t be true.’
Now where is the blade
When you need it most
You threw it away
Cause it caused him pain
To see the cuts on your wrists
‘I love him. He loves her.’
You write the note and hold it tight
As you pull the trigger

Click.

The gun’s not loaded
You break down and cry
Your parents are banging on your door to know why
‘I’m tired just let me sleep’ you say
And they leave you alone, again on their way
‘I miss you, I love you, but you don’t love me.’
You jump out the window to the bridge you run
Tears streaming down and your vision a blur

Standing on the edge of the bridge
Waiting for the right moment
Two arms wrap around you and pull you back down
‘I miss you, I love you.’ He whispers in the dark
He holds you tight and kisses your tears
Time is slow, minutes like years
You look up to see the face of your rescuer
Your best friend
The one you’ve had from grade school
The one who loves you most
