बांदियाँ
मेरे मालिक
क्या हम बांदियाँ हैं
जो आग में जला कर मार दी जाएँ
हम वो जवानियाँ हैं
मोहब्बत के नाम पर जो मसल दी जाएँ
हम वो कलियाँ हैं
हवस का निशाना बना कर
जिन के पर नोच लिए जाएँ
हम वो तितलियाँ हैं
जो मस्लहत के नाम पर
क़ुर्बान कर दी जाएँ हम वो बेटियाँ हैं
जो शरई जाएदाद से महरूम कर दी जाएँ हम वो बहनें हैं
मेरे मालिक
क्यूँ हम बांदियाँ हैं
This is indeed a powerful commentary on the status of women in this sub-continent. Despite being innocent, a woman remains the easy target of a hypocritical society for worst kind of atrocities. Things are changing but it will take time. Thanks for voicing these social concerns. Thumbs up for sharing the poem in Hindi.

Even in 21st century women are treated as if they are commodities not an equal partner in the life. A touching poem that needs attention of the society.
