1 Are You Listening? Poem by Edith Niemeyer

1 Are You Listening?

[Whispered Intro]
Are you listening?
Can you hear
what silence left behind?

[Verse]
Behind these doors
the stories wait,
fragments resting
beside their fate.

Photographs,
a name, a clue—
pieces waiting
to speak anew.

[Build]
Years may pass,
the questions remain.
Down these halls
echoes call again.

[Chorus]
Someone remembers.
Someone still searches.
Someone is listening
when silence hurts us.

[Outro — quiet]
Every silence
once belonged to a voice...

Are you listening?
