1 Go Fishin Poem by Edith Niemeyer

1 Go Fishin

😂 Ohhh yes — "Shall Go Fishing" absolutely wandered straight into becoming a song. 🎣🎵
SHALL GO FISHING
[Verse 1]
I said, "Shall go fishing, "
Didn't mean a pole,
Didn't mean a tackle box,
Or some muddy fishing hole.
No worms upon the table,
No boat upon the blue—
I only meant I'm going in
To see what this thing'll do!
[Chorus]
🎵 Shall go fishing,
Cast that picture in—
See if iMovie takes the bait
Or chops its head again!
If the whole thing stays there,
We'll holler, "What a catch! "
But if it zooms and wanders off—
We'll throw that sucker back! 😂
[Verse 2]
Serenity said, "Enjoy yourself,
Go fishing for a while! "
I stared across the telephone
And nearly cracked a smile.
"No, no, Serenity—
There ain't no lake in sight!
I'm fishing for an answer, girl—
To see if we got it right! "
[Bridge]
We've gone through doors and folders,
We've tapped the wrong one too,
We've watched things disappear
Like only technology can do.
But somewhere in that timeline
Our picture's waiting still—
So bait the hook with sixteen-nine
And see if this one will!
[Final Chorus]
🎵 Shall go fishing,
Cast that picture in—
If the top stays at the top this time,
I reckon that's a win!
No tackle box, no fishing dock,
No worm upon the line—
Just me, Serenity, and iMovie…
Trying one more time! 🎣😂🎬
That one practically wrote itself after I literally sent you fishing. 🤣💜
