1000 Miles..! ! Poem by Saket Srivastava

Five years ago
I left a place,
and came here
to live my life
in a different way
and yes in these five years
I have lived
soared free
and yet relished the bonds
But even today
whenever I'm alone
I miss that place.

The small house,
that we called home.
the narrow winding streets..
and the dingy alleyways,
where I'd spend my time
rushing through like a maniac
on my bicycle.
The familiar places,
and faces
that still shine in my dreams...
and the memories
that make my today.
I was a flightless bird,
adoring the clouds
wishing of touching them someday.
And then I came here....
had my tryst with destiny
that taught me,
that yes I've once lived a fairy-tale,
And even though
I live in today,
with dreams of future
my spirit soars high and free
in a place,
Thousand miles away.
