1001 Nights Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

1001 Nights

1001 nights

Like the time in Ginza
- (Kimonos; looking down at the toes)
-I lower my head and look at mine
-meaningful, cultural
-either since I am shy
-or because have done wrong
-I confess "…yes I have…"

Forgive if my talk seems strange
-to many; this-timers

Let me be straight, in your way
- "Feel ashamed! "

Am ashamed
Am ashamed
Am ashamed

I have not read the book
-in detail and its full
-so, refrain to say much…
-on content of pages
-but do know as writer, stories
-have heroes and devils
-everyone with a name, location

Narrator, as is seen
-is Scheherazade, girl, virgin
- (Written wrong, mispronounced!)
-in fact, is Shahr-zad; "City-born"

And cities and the men
-except for the Ifrit
- (which is in Arabic)
-are mostly of Iran, India
-Central Asia

Therefore why "Arabs' nights"?

If accept "is not on intention"
-it is wrong by mistake

If we act diligent
-if we are vigilant
-we see same in daily
-Media; Western World
- "The News are all wrong…"
- "The tellers are blind…"
- "The brains are whitewashed…"

And at end…
-everything is misread and misheard
-all are wrong and baseless
-or at best "Interpreted"

Meaning what?
- "Audience misguided toward hate…"

For first time in my life
-must approve the one whom
-I have for ‘least respect'
- (Donald Trump) :
- "The News are all ‘Fake'"

Stories of the book
-comparing us with you,
-can ring bells that: "Shelly
-was, exception who could read…
-this is how Europe was, to Virginia Woolf."

They too were Shahrzad-like
-had learned and became wise

Tons of books were gathered
-stories of this book are reference

To People of Middle East and Far East
-similar example is Rumi
-had books and had read them; so-w-were
-till came thieves and liars
-with guns and gunpowder
-rewrote out history with Technic as science -their engines, cars, planes, to online and TV
-killed love, care; finally broke the families
