11: 11 - Poem by Ryan Van Cleave

Awake at night
I dream of day
Recall review
Rewind replay

Fast forward, pause
My favorite scene
An image clear
And bright and clean

Sand in our feet
The breaking of waves
Together in
A summer daze

This moment captured
In my head
A cotton candy
Spiderweb

Kept to revisit
In times of need
For days when I
Just can't proceed

Memories of
You and I
Alone together
we share the sky

Hand in hand
I'll pull you through
Anything
Life throws at you

When you're down
I'll pick you up
And when you're thirsty
fill your cup

I'll always be here
By your side
The one in whom
You can confide

An anchor a rock
A crying shoulder
I'll remember you always
As we get older

If ever you're down
Just close your eyes
Make a wish
Then open wide

And there in front
Of you I'll be
A ghost within
Your memories

To be once more
Here by your side
Till the light grows
And the dark subsides

Till troubles melt
And you find rest
Till peace returns
And you aren't distressed

Then I must leave
But stay at ease
Wish on me
As often as you please

Through stormy seas
And blackest blues
Each time I will
be here for you
