Long long ago
There was no man
There was no woman
There was one soul
Very happy, very sappy
This made god unhappy
God called them and told them
Look I am not happy
They did not care
Laughed at his glare
Made him flare
God said beware
God hurled his thunderbolt
Cut them into two parts
And threw the parts
On different parts of earth
One became a man
One became a woman
No longer happy
Only snappy
When a baby is born
They cry, because
They are not complete
They are missing the
Other half, other part
They cry, because
They have to search, for
Other half, other part
From the day
They are born
They cry, because
They may find it,
They may not find it,
An eternal search, quest
Which they may
Not succeed
They cry, because
If they succeed,
They are complete
If they don’t succeed
They are incomplete
