2009/08 My Butterfly Effect

Physical flashbacks
Like I'm taken from the present
And placed in the past
Creating a false environment similar to your surroundings
Canceling out the actual distance between us
Leaving out air as your embrace brings every inch of my skin in contact with yours
Limbs intertwined
Our soft, comfortable breaths gradually uniting to form a natural pattern
It's unmistakable
'Here' is exactly what we want
Our heat combined fills my body with endorphins
Tingles from deep within
Provoked by your very being
Your existence
It plays the protagonist
In this
Bittersweet tale called life
Perfection is in your words
From a script I've never heard
Identical emotions lead us to a commonplace where our differences stand out like traffic cones in a danger zone
Several digits give us an instant connection which puts me in your company when I'm alone
I am almost never without you
An actual fear within a dream
The indulgence of dependence on an attachment to another human being
I am past the fear of rejection
Even though it lingers so light
Like a balloon tied to my pinky finger
Faith in love is kept alive since sadness is but a visitor to my heart
I try to shake the nonchalance loose, but my ego's grip is tighter than tight
I want to join you in a figurative nakedness
Abandon my overprotective ways
But I feel that time will take us the rest of the way
And until then all I can do is rest
