(2012) Broken Moment (Reply To 'And We Held Our Breath')

In Reply to And We Held Our Breath which goes as follows

'So as not to disturb that moment
As it hangs upon the air
Where moments are minutes
And minutes are hours
Never to break the frailty
Only to caress the delicate
Upon tips of fingers
Caught in the suns last light
These are my moments
These are my hours

And I held my breath'

and yet we knew this moment would break
but we held to it like it was our last
and in that moment we only cared for our own's sake
each others worries until it past

Sadly, it did and everything returned
the sun left our fingertips
the time spent together was something we yearned
I could only wish for a partial eclipse
of what had been

when moments were minutes
and minutes were hours

Now, with the moment broken, and seperation back
these moments are hours
these minutes are days
the months, my will, they seem to devour

But, I will wait and wish and yearn and plead
for the day when our thoughts were almost a guarantee
When moments were minutes
and minutes were hours...
When the months, my will, didn't seem to devour...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Ahhh... As amazing as the moment when you are suspended in time with a loved one. There always comes a moment when that moment has to break. We are never sure how long it will last. But, I do know that the seperationg is something that seems to devour us.
