2020 Memorandum Poem by Paul Warren

2020 Memorandum

After all is said and done
What do we leave our children
A foundation of a proper life
And a soul that understands
That all people are different
And all have a right to live in peace

What stories do we leave the world
Of peace and happiness for all
Where the facts are listened to
And people will have
All they need to live properly
In stories will be told around their fires

Who are the people who deserve to be remembered
Not the villains the thieves the assailants the murderers
But the ones who work and live clean together
They should be the T shirt faces
And the ones who are on the murals
Looking back at all of us

So what about 2020 the virus and the riots
I will remember those who stood up and were counted when needed.
