20th Feb 2017

As Feb was picked
to be the one to be puny,
'a month later'
comes soonest in March.

A month after what happened
that day in Feb
sure doesn't seem
that long ago.

It wouldn't have
in August
if it had happened
in July.

Whoever made Feb so short
was no good sport.

Does Earth take always
the same time
the sun to go about?
they said
not too long ago.
'earth's orbit time'
we Search and find out.

But what was the rub
that gave Feb
28 clear,
to make a month after
what happens in it
so near,
so not long ago?
What was that rub?
is what I want to know.
