#293 Your Ghost Poem by Jimmie Arrington

#293 Your Ghost

Rating: 5.0

Before you go away,
Before you say goodbye,
Before you spend the day
Explaining reasons why,

Before you move on,
Before you start again,
Before you’re really gone,
No longer able to pretend,

Before you can’t take any more,
Before you fake a smile,
Before tears hit the floor,
Making puddles on the tile,

Before you give a kiss goodbye,
Before I beg you not to go,
Before you are too weak to try,
Too tired to let breath flow,

Before your eyes close out the light,
Before your voice becomes a memory,
Before your ghost takes flight,
Please, promise not to haunt me.
