600 Words Poem by M. W. Taylor

600 Words

I had 600 words to describe you
and each was sweeter than the last;
your scarlet lips, your fiery hair,
the scent of rain that walks
with you, following you
and hangs, suspended, in the air.

I wrote up storms for your beauty
and each was a tempest unrivaled;
your darkened lashes, innocent smile -
that makes my heart sing a love song,
dance in the sky, paint a canvas into a picture,
and doing back flips all the while

I had 600 words to describe you,
but I don't need nearly as much
to tell you how I feel, I need only three. I do.
Three little words that describe you just fine
Three words, eight letters long,
Those three words; 'I love you'
