981 Nostalgia Poem by V F

981 Nostalgia

I stand pensive at my window
Gazing with unseeing eyes
As nature in her bewitching beauty
Tries to beckon me out of my mood
For how can I be happy
Knowing you do not care.

You who are always on my mind
Like a dull throb, my heart pines,
Indifferent to everything except you
All I remember is your captivating smile,
Your mesmerizing gaze, soft as a baby’s touch,
As you love me with your eyes,
Your voice, gently caressing,
Melting me, making me supine
While as the lava of a while hot volcano
my passions simmer and boil

Sometimes I feel you love me dearly
Else why would my absence upset you so?
Why would you be jealous,
At my careless wayward glance?
But I fret and torment myself
For you do not reply
To my ponderous ardent missives,
And at such times I lament and cry
That the love of my life
Loves me not enough to show that he cares.
