998 Never Fall In Love Poem by V F

998 Never Fall In Love

Rating: 5.0

Never fall in love……..

I have suffered innumerable sleepless nights
Full of worry and distress.
Í have been tortured by my thoughts
Worse than any physical pain I’ve known.
I have suffered torment - Oh how you hurt me.
If you as much as glance at anyone else
I cannot take this pain any more.
I cannot live like this…
I am barely alive.
I cannot suffer this agony
I cannot survive this malady
Which is without any cure..
I wish I had not drowned deep in your eyes
I wish I felt not one with your very soul,
I wish I had dared not dream of you
Why oh why did this lightning have to strike me so
My heart cries out when I see you in distress,
Your pain is mine your anguish cuts me deep
I desperately try to push you out of my mind,
but you insinuate yourself in my very feelings.
For you tis perhaps a game, a conquest soon to be put behind
sweet one my heart is not a flower: picked admired and soon forgotten
Yet, I make excuses for you, see good in all your actions,
But you speak not to me: what goes on in your head?
What feelings have you for me?
I do understand the language of your eyes
But need the reassurance of words
my love is selfish I want you only for myself
When I see you in the morning with a smile only for me
Full of promise and mystery I fall in love all over again
When misunderstandings tear at the fragile tapestry of my feelings
A part of me shrivels up and dies my only hope
Is again that enigmatic smile from your eyes.
