A Poem by Ramon White

A

As I walked through the forest'
I came upon a tiny bird
That sat upon the limb of a dying three
singing a sad song
A sony that filled the air
with falling tear drops
and when I asked the bird
why are you singing such a sad song
The tiny bird spoke to me
and side with a heavy heart
you see the tree sit upon
it was your yesterday, but now my today
For the beauty this tree once beheld
I'll never see
For the ocean or seas
that flow with blue or green
For you see this tree
I must accept
it was given to me
without through but selfishness
