A Bad Year Poem by D.S. Bell

A Bad Year

Had a bad day today,
One of the sadder ones, I'd say.
You know the ones I mean right?
Keeping you up through the night;
Worrying about what tomorrow will bring,
Will it get worse?
Is this, really, happening?

But life is like that sometimes.
Silly mistakes our thoughts immerse,
Silly mistakes we repeatidly curse,
And the outcome to all of this hate?
Is the inability to forgive our mistakes
And the drive to hate oneself more
Drawing blood,
Inside our head's at war,
A onesided debate,
Another mistake,
Another cut here.
This is a bad year.
