Hope And Pain Poem by D.S. Bell

Hope And Pain

('Tired')
Hopes fed,
('Tired..')
Another flame dead,
Emotions fired.
Seething,
Embers breathing,
And hopes refuse to die.

So much to say?
("Sigh")
'Okay.. Fine! ';
I'll comply.

"I was out of line! "
You tell me I lie,
That you see the signs,
Each time I deny,
You lose your mind.

Lean into me,
Over me,
At me,

("Hello ‘Nasty'")
Where've you been?
Can't disagree;
gotta take it on the chin.

But you won't let up,
I can't break free,
Cup
Half empty,
Emotions undersea;

I lash out,
Strike,
Time to shout;
All villain-like.

"Leave me alone! "
"Stop blaming me! "
But,
You moan and groan,
Glare like stone,
fixed tone,
Hate
Cutting me to the bone.

("Hate? ")
You're
Meant to be my bro,
But, you bestow,
Another blow,
And
Push me to a low.

I grow
Sad,
Ill,
Mad?
Still;
No..

("Tired")
I feel
Your poison spread,
("Tired..")
I kneel,
Dreams dead.
Emotions expired.
I cry,
Bleeding,
Soul pleading;

But my hopes refuse to die.
