A Beggar's Song Poem by Kurt Philip Behm

A Beggar's Song

Rating: 5.0

My last attempt
to circle the square
anger takes the throne

Isolated
no longer to share
servitude alone

Wandering unsure
things left unsaid
words to disappear

Into the dark
deserted forlorn
heightening my fear

The ladder broken
every rung
unable now to climb

Direction gone
a beggar's song
—with nothing left to find

I find this poem very interesting. The theme is somewhat veiled, but the passion shines through. Overall, a very good poem, and I shall read it several times because I think the more I study it the more meaning it will reveal to me. Thanks, Kurt. Good work!
