A Beloved Recluse Poem by Anushreeta Dey

A Beloved Recluse

Rating: 5.0

It was an autumn night when I was walking for the unknown,
Through the woods so harsh and mountains so wild;
Twilight was pouring down an incorrigible shine meant for none,
And then I wondered how the night was so distant, dense and stars glowed so mild.

I fell over the marshes, my feet they were sore,
Then I smiled at the moon as I saw your deep eyes summoning me;
There were enchanting memoirs which I always bore,
Then it was time to join the spirits of my journey and so the zest should avail me.

Piled moments of desolation should never despoil my fancy,
How rare was the grief when I whispered your name in solitary;
For you lifted me up with a life full of happiness,
Now, when you were waiting on the other side, angels watched me with tenderness.

Then came the dawn and I stopped when your voice sang into my ears,
For the waves of hope you raised in me and nurtured for years;
Heaven was in this longing which I am beholding by the lake so clearer,
for how adorable the possession you left to hold in my arms forever.

The Sun was gleaming with your smile which I was beholding,
I set out for the recluse for I always had you in my heart breathing;
The journey ended with those little fingers caressing me,
And I was feeling her delicate tiny fingers plucking my sleeve.

My soul, my love, my pangs, my laugh, all I restored for thee,
and you had laid this innocent infant, by the waters for me;
I listened to her heartbeats like I listened yours,
She kissed my cheek like the beauty of flowers.

Then I saw those eyes and She hid her head in my chest so deep,
I was sure of you being with me and the strength laid so deep;
she loved me like you did and we were walking again with the giggles all around,
But then I embarked on a journey to the destination so very known.
