A Bleeding Mess - Poem by chantelle ribeiro

I Can Tell You This...

Poet's Notes about The Poem

I can tell you this
You move me
My heart, my soul
Every part of my being
My first thought when I open my eyes
My last before I lay down my head
Does this make sense?
But then
Just as I think you've found your way
that you listen to what I say
You disappear
I sit here speechless
The silence something very real
And I feel empty
Nothing makes sense to me
Your past words feel like lies
And in the darkness of the night
the echoes of my cries
pierces the quietness
of my soul
My heart a bleeding mess
But still I cannot love you less
