A Blessing Worth Waiting For Poem by Gio Masserati

A Blessing Worth Waiting For

I wonder
Does purity keep lust in check
I don't know
Not so sure
But I say, Nay

Constant denial
Makes one stronger
So it seems
To know for sure
Weigh motives
Of heart
Intentions
Lust and love
Can't both be okay
For a healthy marriage
What's the score

I'd say one
thinks of sex
Maybe even more
But I'm not a catholic girl
That went to an all girls school
Not Madonna
Or a saintly nun
That has a non existent
Sex life that's screwed
Because there is certainty
Of no earthly husband

No, I'm just a hypocrite
That thinks of thoughts
Too much
Waiting for my husband
Prince charming
To partake in loving touch

In the meantime

Bless my body
Bless my soul
Help me focus
on my soulmate
becoming whole
Bless my future
husband's body
Bless my future
Husband's soul
Lord, please hear my prayer
In also mating my soul to whole
I will definitely
appreciate my husband
Hopefully
Father
He feels the same
After waiting
In long-suffering
A Celebration
Will take place
A Blessing
Worth Waiting For!

Amen!
