A Bookworm Wanting To Be A Vine - Poem by RIC S. BASTASA

When I look at you
Oh my lovely tree
Alone on a hill
How I wish that
I may become
A honeysuckle
A clinging vine
That from your
Root to top
I may entwine

But I am just
A bookworm

Still trapped
In this book

That she is
still Reading.
