A Brighter Outlook Poem by Jean Sheridan

A Brighter Outlook

The house looks much cleaner
The dust is not there
No stains on the sink
And no bits of hair

The garden is lovely
The grass a lush green
I can’t see the clover
Bare patches and weeds

My friends all look younger
Than when we last met
Less grey in their hair
And their lines seem less set

I gaze in the mirror
My make-up looks great
I look ten years younger
I might find a mate

The creams must be working
My wrinkles have gone
I think I might never
Put my glasses back on
