' A Brother's Swan Song' Poem by Leela Rao

' A Brother's Swan Song'

A Brother's Vision Unmatched, Harbinger Of Service, Healing Touch.
I was but a Child, his Little Sister.
Lessons Fraught with Abundant Grace,
No Time to Dwell, Thoughts Too Lofty,
Ideals Too High, A Eutopia, Nay A Calling.

He Lingered Through The Nights, Books By His Side,
Midnight Oil, Tests and Toil, Life's Too Short He Said.
Got To Read, Got To, Perceive, Got To Ponder, A Creed, Too Rare.
I knew Not Then, A Treasure In Our Home, A Saintly Quality.

I was but a Child, His Little Sister, Singing To Merry tunes,
Until One Day, He Spied Me Playing, This Time Will Never Return He Said,
So Glean Those Books, Write Your Lines, Pay Attention, All Is Bright.
A Brother's Wisdom Bears Such Fruit, Little Did I Know, I Had a Gem.

A Healer To The Sick And The Poor, His Portals Grace, Many a Day,
He Skipped His Meal, So Time is Spent, Listening To The Muse At Night.
Morning Brings Another Day, Wake Up To Scores, Make No Delay,
This Twilight Lingers, Sustenance and Deep Penance.

Such Was My Brother's Vision, A Healing Touch, Compassion and Care,
There Comes Not Another One, For History Knew, That Day Was Done.
He Traveled Far and Wide, To Make Known His Gentle Pride,
A Mastery He won, For Solace To Everyone.

I Ask In Reverence, Behold a Saint, A Child To The World, Godly Traits.
Today The World, Looks Different, The Sun Has Lost It's Luster,
The Rainbow Tries, To Spread Her Charm, But Tears Run Down Every Calm,
Locked In Such Unspeakable Grief, A Child In Mother's Arms,
A Brother So Unique, He Comes But Once, I Hold His Grace, In My Dreams.

So Listen Up, Listen with Care, Cherish Your Brother, He Is Rare.
Follow His Thoughts, Linger With Care, Life Is Taken, Never To Share.
If I Could Say To Him Now, In This Earth, Seldom Comes, An Angel He Is,
I See The Aura, Of Truths He Told, Pay Attention, My Mind Is Right,
I Will Seek Your Grace For Every Day, Passing By That Heavenly Light.

A Humanitarian of exceptional Grace, my darling Brother served Thousands, expecting nothing in return. He was a recipient of The Mother Theresa Award for Humanitarian Work, President; s Award for his Academic Excellence in Neurology, he was all piety and humility.I am so blessed to be his only Sister.
