A Bundle Of Conflicts Poem by Adjah Oka

A Bundle Of Conflicts

Is it worth the pain or should he rest?
Because when he gives it his best
It turns out to be a mess
Much like a futile quest
Now he needs an iron vest to maintain his zest
In order to win the war and pass the test

A turbulent sea, the battle rages
Down through the ages
Happiness and sadness struggle
Hope and despondence wrestle
Trust grapples with anxiety
The flesh against the spirit
They give each other no downtime

'There will be a period of rest', he muttered
'Absolute calmness within and serenity without'
He strains to hear the gentle whisper pushing through the noise of battle cry
Listen to what it says: 'you are more than just a bundle of conflicts'
He really needs to hear that!

Staring at the fiery sky, he repeated it to himself
'I am more than just a bundle of conflicts'
