A Carpathians Story Poem by Kiersten Reilly

A Carpathians Story

A lurking shadow,
Within the dark,
He walks these empty streets,
The protector.

Alone forever,
He fights the dark,
But how can you fight,
What soon you shall become?

For every kill, and every passing night,
He embraces the darkness,
He is comforted by darkness,
He IS darkness.

For sunlight burns,
He holds darkness close,
As do his enemies,
Forever night.

But he has hope.

The light to his darkness,
The only thing,
That can save him,
From the very being he destroys.

A lifemate.
