A Cherished Song This Night Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

A Cherished Song This Night

A cherished song this night
Is humming
Through its teeth
After with Zephyr conspiring
In his ears whispering
Out of his bag
Let out the winds
And
The winds gnaw
And
The winds neigh
And
The winds sorrowfully lament
And
The wind add drear to the
Drear
And
The winds add sad to the
Sad
To-night
To-night
In old Valletta.
