A Child Poem by Tapiwanaishe Pamacheche

A Child

child who plays with elders knows his fontanel is protected,
a child who jumps a rock twice had mastered a skill.
A child who cries at dawn knows the mystic sound of the ancestors.
A child who goes crazy, dances on the echoless drum.....
a child who whistles at nights does not know
The consequences of natural mystics
A child who crawls to the fire get amazed after the scar.
A child who curses the ground will suffer the wrath of his gods,
A child who fears knows the root of knowledge
A child who respect knows the truck of wisdom.
A child who drinks with elders must know he is too far from reaching the heights of manhood
