Been Dreaming Poem by Tapiwanaishe Pamacheche

Been Dreaming

Been dreaming of ancient drums, trumpet blowing like gorges
ants fighting man,
hills melting with tongues of man that pierce watching rats eating man‘s feet, judges with human wit,
shaming people forgetting they are spurting yellowish putrid characters.
Dogs barking in the disturbed night,
an old man is dead
owls hunting for mice in the beauty of darkness, witches devouring the innocent
wolves visiting man in the break of day looking for chickens
fox with deep cunning eyes on the hill top saliva oozing,
triggering the utmost appetite while the shepherd is dead dreaming.
Crops
perishing in the heart of the furnace vegetables
losing hope in the mouth of moths sons
dying while their fathers drink sorghum

and on top of a concubine, enjoying a song of adultery
girls
opening legs to an old man
who drops fluids in her legs
and the seed fertilizes a 14 year old child.
Sons
swimming rivers full of crocodiles who need to taste the human blood diaspora lights glowing on the other side women
selling daughters for cattle, fathers
selling sons for slavery.
