A Child’s Poem For Christmas Poem by Dr John Celes

A Child’s Poem For Christmas

My mom told you are born today;
Baby Jesus, ‘Happy birthday! ’
You brought us joy and peace to earth;
We thank you for your birth.

You slept upon a bed of hay,
In freezing winter’s cold;
A star brought Magi all their way,
To worship you, we’re told.

You came to save us sinners, Lord;
Some shepherds came to see;
As Angels sang in praise of God,
You slept in poverty.
