A Clarification
Sir, you misunderstand me:
When I say that he was very human,
I do not mean to say that he
Was wise, empathic, compassionate,
Or possessed of kindness towards others.
I mean to say that he was petty, tribal,
Proud, small-minded, selfish, and cruel.
He entirely failed
To rise above his animal nature.
The former are attributes of people:
The latter, merely humans.
